3. S8 MaxV Ultra and S8 Max Ultra feature an 100ml built-in water tank, a 4L clean water tank, and 270ml dustbin. In comparison, S8 Pro Ultra boasts a 200ml built-in water tank, a 3.5L clean water tank, and 350ml dustbin.
4. S8 MaxV Ultra and S8 Max Ultra include Roborock Smart Plan, which automatically customizes the optimal cleaning plan based on the home environment and past cleaning habits.
5. S8 MaxV Ultra and S8 Max Ultra offer additional features such as "Add Area" for targeted re-cleaning and "Skip Area" to bypass specific areas for efficiency, neither of which are available on S8 Pro Ultra.
6. There is a heating module inside dock of S8 MaxV Ultra and S8 Max Ultra to heat water in the clean sink to 60℃. With 60℃ hot water, most greasy dirt can be dissolved, while S8 Pro Ultra only uses room temperature water to wash the mops.
S8 Max Ultra has the VibraRise® 3.0 Mopping System.
Featuring double vibration modules, the upgraded mop effortlessly manages dust, dirt and dried-on stains through its 4000 times/min high-speed scrubbing. It lifts up to 20mm above the ground while cleaning carpets, allowing simultaneous vacuuming and mopping without causing unwanted dampness.
There are four cleaning modes available: Smart, Light, Balanced, and Deep.
- Smart mode automatically adjusts the water volume and duration of mop washing based on the level of dirt.
- Light mode is suitable for clean environments, offering reduced cleaning time and water consumption.
- Balanced mode is ideal for medium-sized homes, providing a balance between cleaning speed and performance.
- Deep mode is suited for occasional deep cleaning, featuring higher water consumption and longer cleaning time.
The default wash frequency is set to 15 minutes, which can be adjusted on the wash settings page of the app. If necessary, you can also initiate mop washing manually by pressing and holding the Dock button while the robot is on the dock.
Yes, the robot cleaner can operate without Wi-Fi and perform full-home cleanups, spot cleanups, and return to the dock with the push of a button. Additionally, it can perform basic voice commands. Connecting to Wi-Fi unlocks advanced features such as scheduled cleaning, selection of suction power strength, and more.
1. With the Add Area feature, you can select an additional area for cleaning in the middle of a cleaning session. The robot will prioritize cleaning the newly selected area first.
2. With the Skip Area feature, you can instruct the robot to skip the current area during the cleaning process and move on to the next area.
Vacuum carpet first: The robot will vacuum carpets identified on the map when a cleaning cycle is initiated. It will then return to wash the mop pads and clean the remaining areas.
Deep carpet cleaning: The robot will vacuum carpets identified on the map twice using a cross-hatch pattern for thorough cleaning.
What distinguishes the "Cross" mode from the "Rise" mode in obstacle avoidance? There are four obstacle avoidance modes:
1. Rise: When a carpet is detected, the mop lifts and water flow stops for carpet vacuuming.
2. Avoid: The robot completely avoids carpets.
3. Ignore: Ideal for environments without carpets or where mats can be mopped.
4. Cross: Crossing mode is suitable for door mats or carpets. It crosses them without cleaning.
The dustbin filter inside the robot is an E11 filter (Efficient Particulate Arrestance filter 11 or EPA 11), rather than HEPA. It effectively removes 95% of particles with a size equal to or greater than 0.3 μm.
To prevent corrosion or damage, only use Roborock branded floor cleaner in the water tank.

Usually, we suggest customers put device on dock all the time if it is used every week. After battery is fully charged, only mother board of device is charged and customers don't need worry battery is fully charged for a long time and may decrease the lifespan. Besides, the device will turn off auto without any operation after 24 hours if it is not on dock and customers have to manually hold power button to turn on it, which is not convenient if it is often used. Of course, we still suggest customers turn off device if it will not be used for several months.
